A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
Sin is a condition of the heart and mind of our ‘inner man’. It is exhibited through thoughts, words, and actions. When we accept Christ as our personal Savior, we are born again, and our inner man is given a heart transplant by God. The Holy Spirit comes in and will begin to make changes as we yield to His presence in our lives. These changes will be reflected in our attitudes, words, and deeds. Instead of self-serving actions or hate-filled and divisive speech, our mouths should be praising and glorifying God and speaking kindness with patience and gentleness toward others. When our hearts are full of love for God and others, our words and actions will reflect that. As we grow in our Christian walk, the Holy Spirit bears more fruit in our lives, and others will begin to witness the love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control that are hallmarks of a true Christian life.
Grace and blessings on your path,
