After a busy start to the new year, I’m back! I hope you’ve enjoyed the amazing teachings and insights from our most recent blogs. Sue works hard to study and bring you only the most biblically sound lessons, inspired by prayer and guided by the Holy Spirit.
Now as the title states this blog is about our faith, which can be a very fragile thing. It grows, it strengthens, and unfortunately, sometimes it is heavily tested. Faith is easy to maintain when things are going well. When your family is healthy, you’re happy, finances are good, and your job is going well. Whatever it means to be comfortable in your life, it’s easy to be faithful when you feel as though the sun is shining on you daily.
But what happens when circumstances become more difficult? Finances are stretched, disagreements arise, and you begin to feel as though you just can’t catch a break? To be a true believer we would never waver in tough times, right?
What about when you pray daily for a family member to recover from a terminal illness when you’ve lost a parent, spouse, or child, or any number of heartbreaking events occurs, bringing you to your knees?
What happens then?
You wouldn’t be the first, nor would you be the last to have your faith shaken in truly difficult times. But remember when life brings you to your knees, to take that time to pray. God meets us where we are. He knows us so much deeper and more intimately than we even know ourselves. If you’re scared, hurting, and your faith has taken a beating, He already knows. You are loved beyond understanding by an all-powerful God who knows how perfectly imperfect you are and adores you anyway. Reaching out to your Heavenly Father, especially when your faith is stretched to what you feel may be the limit, is what faith is all about.
You may feel alone. You may feel hopeless. But you are never alone as a child of God. Trusting in the Lord means that he will lift you from the darkest of places and help you to stand strong again.
Hopefully, the tough times in your life are few, and the joy in your heart is bursting! For any other time, stand steady in your faith. Hold tight to the Word of God and know that we are all perfectly imperfect.
Cheerfully in Christ,
